The peptide ligandome of human thymic antigen presenting cells

PD Dr. Eva Tolosa (AG Immunregulation)

Despite many years of investigation, it is not yet clear which peptides are responsible for the selection of thymocytes. We have isolated human thymic antigen presenting cells (dendritic cells and thymic epithelial cells), and studied the antigen processing and presentation machinery in these cell types. In addition, analysis of the peptides bound to HLA class I and class II molecules is shedding light at the self-antigen peptide repertoire on which human thymocytes are selected in vivo.
