Aktivierungs- und Toleranzmechanismen adaptiver regulatorischer T-Zellen im Mausmodell einer Immunhepatitis

In a model of immune-mediated liver injury inducible by the T cell mitogen concanavalin A, mice developed long term resistance towards restimulation. Tolerance was characterized by significantly reduced serum transaminase activities, improvement of liver morphology and an anti-inflammatory cytokine milieu. Tolerance seems to be mediated by IL-10 producing CD4+CD25+Foxp3+ regulatory T cells (Tregs) with increased immunosuppressive potential compared to naïve Tregs.
