CD8+ T cells in multiple sclerosis

Dr. Manuel Friese (AG Neuroimmunologie)

We aim to understand the pathogenic role of autoreactive cytotoxic and regulatory CD8+ T cells in multiple sclerosis patients. This is done by phenotypically characterising these cells in patients and healthy individuals. Functionally their role is tested in in vitro analyses as well as by establishing humanised mice mimicking their function in humans.
